To achieve the objectives, a number of activities have been planned. These include :

  1. Inventory and assessment of the network's scientific and technical potential, both in terms of expertise and products; 
  2. Assistance to network members to set up local partnerships involving local communities, researchers, entrepreuneurs, brokers, representatives from financial institutions and public services, etc.;
  3. Financial and/or technical support to local partnerships for entrepreuneurial activities such as market analysis for target natural products, feasibility studies, elaboration of business plans and other relevant documents, preparation of bank proposals, organisation of workshops on entrepreuneurship, etc.; 
  4. Setting up of an information alert system on technology transfer and commercial opportunities (Web site, database) to promote information exchange and communication, partnerships, and business transactions; 
  5. Production of video-cassettes on techniques and products developed by network members, both in international (English or French) and local languages to promote the dissemination of research results particularly in rural areas; 
  6. Assessment and marketing of the network's expertise in the consultancy business; 
  7. Organisation of workshops to train network people in entrepreuneurship, consultancy business, etc.; 
  8. Organisation of the 5th Colloquium on natural products from plant origin; 
  9. Development of collaboration with other organizations, donors and financial institutions; and 
  10. Survey on appropriate institutional framework for the management of network activities in the long run.
