Central European Conference on "Chemistry Towards Biology"
8-12 September 2002, Portoroz, Slovenia

Biology and chemistry represent a large multidisciplinary environment within which biochemists and chemists cooperate on theoretical and practical grounds with a view to gain detailed descriptions of bio-molecular systems. This first-time conference, to be held 8-12 September 2002 in Portoroz, Slovenia, has its origins in a long-term cooperation among scientists who met at several joint crystallographic conferences during the seventies and eighties and discussed topics pertaining to inorganic and structural chemistry. The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity to promote discoveries within this large context that can further aid in the development of new advances in biotechnology and serve in the evaluation and predictions for further studies. Topics will include high-resolution crystallography of macromolecules, advanced spectroscopic methods as well as computational simulations.
