Title: Solubility data related to industrial processes. Solubility
of higher alkynes in liquids
Series: Solubility Data Series; editor-in-chief: Mark
Salomon
Task Group
Chairman: Peter G.T.
Fogg
Member: Mark Salomon
Objective:
This project will compile and evaluate all available solubility
data for higher alkynes with liquids. It will complement volume
76 of the Solubility Data Series entitled Solubility of Ethyne in
Liquids, edited by Peter G.T. Fogg.
The results of this work will be prepared in the standard format of
the IUPAC-NIST Solubility Data Series for publication in the Journal
of Physical and Chemical Reference Data and for inclusion in a web-accessible
database being prepared by the US National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST).
Description:
Under the direction of the Subcommittee on Solubility and Equilibrium
Data (SSED) of the Analytical Chemistry Division, the IUPAC Solubility
Data Project (SDP) compiles and critically evaluates data on chemical
solubility and disseminates the resulting information to the widest
possible range of users by traditional (printed on paper) and electronic
(web-accessible database) means.
The systems to be covered by this project fit within the priority focus
area, Solubility Related to Industrial Processes. Alkyne solubilities
are important to many industrial processes, primarily as data for purification
of high energy fuels and for use of alkynes in synthesis of more complex
organic compounds . These systems were not covered yet in Solubility
Data Series.
