COMMISSION ON ISOTOPE SPECIFIC MEASUREMENTS AS TRACEABLE REFERENCES (II.4)

Number: 240/12/98

Title: Carbon Isotope Ratio in CO2

Series: International Measurement Evaluation Programme (IMEP-8)

Coordinator(s): L. Van Nevel and P. Taylor

Completion Date: 2000 - Project Completed

Objective:
In this program, The Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM), which coordinates IMEP is focusing on carbon isotope ratios in CO2. Geochemistry, clinical and food chemistry laboratories will be invited to participate.

Two samples with different carbon 13dVPDB values (between 0 and -30 0/00 ) will be made availabale to the participants. The samples will be supplied in two 1000ml containers, together with a pressure reducing valve.

Progress:

This project was presented at a poster session at the IUPAC Congress/GA July 2001
