COMMISSION ON HIGH TEMPERATURE MATERIALS AND SOLID STATE CHEMISTRY (II.3)

Number: 230/23/89

Title: Terminology for Diffusion in the Solid State (Revised Title)

Coordinator(s): M. Kizilyalli, J. Corish and R. Metselaar

Completion Date: 1998 - project completed

Objective:
The objective of this task force is to define a series of terms describing diffusion in solids with particular relevance to solid state reactions. Definitions will be clarified with equations. When more than one definition is present in the literature they will be combined.

Progress:
A draft manuscript has been prepared and sent to a number of external experts for comment. It has been revised in light of those comments. The revised manuscript has been approved by commission and a provisional document distributed for review. The public comment period ends 1 Oct. 1998.

See progress report in the Minutes of the Commission Meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia, 12-13 June 1998 - Chem. Int. 21(2), 54-57 (1999).

This project was presented at a poster session at the IUPAC Congress/GA July 2001
