Subcommittee on Bioorganic Chemistry

Edited by Scott, A.I.

Bioorganic Chemistry (Academic Press)
Vol. 27, No. 1, Feb. 1999 & No. 2, Apr. 1999

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) recently established a subcommittee for Bioorganic Chemistry, one of whose missions is to foster new initiatives in the field. As part of this program it was decided to invite the submission of manuscripts from members of the sub-committee and also from younger scientists to compose a Symposium-in-Print which reflects the wide spectrum of research in bioorganic chemistry. With the enthusiastic support of Dr. George Kenyon, the new Editor of Bioorganic Chemistry, we have now assembled the Symposium which is being published in two issues of the Journal.

Since the following papers represent the works of only a few of the many scientists in the field, is hoped that future volumes of Bioorganic Chemistry will feature further installments of these symposia.
