COMMISSION ON NOMENCLATURE, PROPERTIES,
AND UNITS (VII.C.1)
Number: 710/26/95
Title: Nomenclature, Properties and Units in Flow
Cytometry
Coordinator(s): P. Storring and A. Orfao
Completion Date: 1999 - abandoned
Objective:
Flow Cytometry is being increasingly used in the clinical laboratory
to fractionate and characterize cell populations such as lymphocytes.
The development of this new technology has led to the introduction
of new terms, quantities and units, relating to the method (e.g.
optics) and to the results of measurement (e.g. cellular DNA content).
It is essential to try to achieve common nomenclature, quantities
and units, and to ensure that these are coherent with the existing
nomenclature recommended by IUPAC.
Progress:
Project abandoned - to be re-initiated by Dr. Ruiz-Arguelles
