Title: Environmental Impacts of Wastewater Reuse - Research Overview

Completion Date: 1998

Objective:
To produce a review paper and run a workshop on the impacts of renovated wastewater projects on the environment and collaboration with international organizations such as UNESCO, IAHS, IHP and the world bank under the umbrella of SCOWAR. The reuse of wastewater has become a real necessity in arid and semi-arid regions. The ecological setting, the biochemical and the environmental aspects of wastewater reuse were reviewed, based on the Israeli experience.

Progress:
Project Completed - The review was circulated among the members of the Commission, and parts were published; ref. Shevah, Y. and M. Waldman, Research and Development for Wastewater reuse, in Reservoirs for Wastewater Storage and Reuse, Juanico and Dor (Eds), Springer-Verlag, Berlin, Heidelberg, 1999.
